Kids Hair Care Kits
I started doing these last year when a community liaison from Lister Elementary shared that there was a need in the Salishan Neighborhood. There are many kids in the foster care system that move around quite a bit, children from low income families or kids that may just be displaced and unfortunately sometimes their hair/appearance is last on the list of necessities.
The kits have evolved per year based on what I hear our neighbors actually need. Here is what is going in them this year....
Pin tail comb
wide tooth comb
hard bristle brush
satin lined bonnet
Barrettes, Beads or bobblers
Rubberbands
Hair Oil
Shampoo
Leave in Conditioner
Hair Grease
Edge Control or gel
A small booklet with youtube tutorials for simple hair styles, tips and tricks on wash day, list of everything in bag and a coupon for when they need to re-up supplies.
